Character developments

Here are some more sketches I've been doing of the girl and old man. I've just started playing around with the form of the old man, seeing what shapes work for him. For the girl, what sort of hair style would suite her best side buns I thought made her look too young and hair done up and with only one bun does make her look too old. Not sure what dress ware to give her. When she play fights with the boy should she be in kung fu clothing or is she at the time not doing anything to do with kung fu, just decides to have some fun with the guy? Hope you like so far.

Thnx, I had a little fun with that, just wanted to do something a bit more complete than thinking about just her design. Though I had more fun drawing the old man. :D

Don't know whether to give her a sexy dress or to give her a kung fu uniform, depends on if she was training at the time or just standing there and helping her dad with things. Ben, would she have a dress or kung fu uniform do you think?

How about in the nude????
Shes more on her off-time when we aencounter her. I'd like something flashy like the draperies, gives a graceful contrast to the guy. But of course we dont want to over complicate things by giving her too much secondry action (hair, sleaves and dress). With the dress you might have a cut on the side that allows her to kick. So, yeah, a good looking outfit/dress.
I like the shapes youve come up with Keith. Good start on the girl's costume. Not too sure about the miniskirt, it looks too sexy :P
The second image is awesome too!
On the third image, I really like the hair style of the design on the right. Having no nose seems to work on her. See what other ways of drawing noses you can come up with. Obviously a really noticeable nose doesnt look quite appealing on a pretty face. So we could try subtle hints at the nose instead.
The master character is looking good too. I especially like the costume again. Have a play with the head shape. Its looking rather round for such an old weathered man :P The distance between the eyes and bottom of the nose is said to distinguish young and old, with older people having bigger gaps. A big nose might make him seem older too.
Good work team! :D

I like nude :P Nude is good! Ok seriously now, so off time dress, cool, get to have fun with that. Gonna be difficult if we have any patterns on her dress unless if we fill in her dress with a pattern tat doesn't move like in that "asience"advert yo showed us. r we could add one small one or something. Yeah the dress would have to be cut so she can kick, a bit like tht mini dress I drew for her but long enough to be a dress and could part slightly lower down.
I'm gonna have a go at going with a different direction with the girl and maybe other characters too if it comes out usefully as continuing in this style is getting a bit dried up for inspiration. I'll try and fit a nose on her to see how it looks and play around more with the old man's designs for head shape.

Cheers Keith. Yeah I noticed the pattern on the Ascience advert too. I think you can do something like that on Toonboom. Its an option we can explore that might be a nice feature. But keep in mind that it may not work well so have youre designs flexible enough to drop this feature.
